Links     Profile     Character Log Friends     It isn't very hard to notice that Amélie lacks a few numbers in the friends department, especially now that she's starting a new life in the valley. Her stories, her experiences, everything, seems to only come from personal account.  Never does she mention having someone accompany her aside from maybe one or two acquaintances.      Amélie craves friends, that's for sure. And because of that she tries her best to be friendly to all those around her. She's the "treat those like you'd like to be treated" type and because of this can get herself into a few pickles. She's overly energetic, animated, and way too ready to seize anything and everything that presents itself to her. So expect to either be dragged to one place or another or have a helping hand (beware: she's an absolute klutz). She also has the bad habit of being too blunt to the point of being insulting. It's not that honesty is the best policy when it comes to Amélie, it's more that the words come tumbling out before she can help herself - especially if she's drunk.     Despite being as socially starved as she is, making friends with her takes a while... but it could also take no time at all. She's relatively easy to befriend, but the faster the word "friend" thrown early in the more she'll begin to doubt her relationship with said person. Amélie is willing to go along with it as to not anger anyone, yet she'll find herself fretting over the whole situation and feeling uncomfortable even if it isn't too noticeable. So for her to consider you her friend it would take some time. Ideas: misunderstandings to eventual friends, competitive rivals, fast friends, always bumping into each other, enemies to friends, drinking buddies, anything and everything Romance     Amélie isn't the type to fall in love at first sight and, although she may be vocal about a person’s attractiveness, she isn’t the type to go for looks. She’s dated around enough to not fall for another person's physique and finds that actions will usually sway her more than a pretty face. Actions would be preferable over empty words, yes, but her experiences have led her to not expect much from those who show romantic interest in her.     If she were to experience someone who truly cares and shows sincere feelings towards her, Amélie would find herself becoming flustered around the person and becoming an even bigger, clumsier mess. If it were the other way around where Amélie is the one pining, she’ll be at odds with herself. In one hand she’ll want to find various ways to gain that person’s attention, while in the other she would find it absolutely embarrassing that the person is giving her any attention whatsoever.  She'll freeze up, not know what to say, and may even come off as if she wants nothing to do with the person.     She’s relatively easy to become involved with if the person is very straightforward. However, she will think it’s yet another superficial relationship and will simply go through the motions. To actually win her heart, as with her friendship, time is needed. Ideas: friends to lovers, fast couple to actual love, flirtatious relationships, crushing while said crush is oblivious or vice versa, overall awkward crushing, anything really Enemies     When it comes to making enemies it's hard for Amélie to view anyone as such and will usually default to finding whoever an annoying nuisance. She isn't one to carry any deep-seated hatreds but will easily tear into anyone with whom she doesn't personally agree with. She has a huge temper when it comes to people who are, for a better way of putting it, constantly rude and/or enjoy making people's lives miserable on purpose. If it comes to that, you'll definitely be making an enemy out of her. Otherwise, expect some attitude and off-handed comments. Ideas: not clicking at all, never seeing eye-to-eye,  mean girl-style back and forth or just normal back and forths, anything Other I'm open to any plot idea no matter how crazy or dark it may be.  Just throw it at me either here or on discord (@ me or PM me)!  Here are some thread ideas (they can be open or private): Nighttime fishing: Have a nice time fishing at night. Dip your feet into the water an relax, though Amélie would rather jump in and splash about if it gets too boring. Might get a bit sick, might not. Who knows? Bar/Tavern Event: It's never too early to get a drink! Put on some music, sing along, maybe have a dance or two. Just a nice fun time which may or may end up in having one-too-many drinks and a serious hangover. Helping Out: Maybe help someone set up their home or just be company on a few errands. If there's one thing Amélie does best is helping others out (* cough*).

I have been chomping at the bit for this, but I needed some time to sit down and write it out, so lets get started shall we?

First and foremost: Doctor buddies. I need doctor buddies. Also I'm literally wracking my brain for a way these two become enemies and there would have to be a conscious effort, because aside for Amelie being a little too excitable and loud, she is just wayyyy too nice, and at most, she'll probably hurt his feelings on accident and he'll go be sad in his office for a while. I think it's a natural go to that these two will get to know each other anyways, they're the only two people in this line of business (for right now anyways) and Quinn has been in town for a bit (a couple years?) so he's absolutely delighted that there are other people in town, especially a veterinarian. I'd love to hear any ideas you have but my immediate brain thoughts are:

Friends. They would make fantastic friends, she's a little loud, a little boisterous, and a little upfront, while Quinn tends to second-guess himself and stumble, but both of them are chatty, cheery, and just wanna have friends around. It'll be a little awkward at first, but I think both will warm up to each other quickly, and get along, so I would love for them to hang out, talk about work, forage together, get drunk whatever! Also, if you want to throw in romance, gone good or gone bad, that could easily work too he's a flirty drunk, and I think it would be awkward, but potentially interesting to keep in mind. Mostly though, I want punk rock vet and nerdy bean doc to hang out!

Alright alright, but also, I gotta throw Jay Rivers at you too. These two can go pretty much goddamn anywhere. Enemies? Sure, Jay's gruff, rude, doesn't like people, and will definitely be upset if someone goes splashing in the lake while he's trying to fish, or walks up and tries to force a conversation on him. Friends? Maybe, if she can get him to warm up he'll still find her annoying and loud, but maybe she can make him crack a smile... he definitely cares a lot about his animals so it's inevitable he'll have to see her somewhat often anyways! Lovers? It'd be a slow burn, but it could work eventually, he loves animals, and loves nature, so Tranquil Island is secretly his paradise, he just needs someone to push him to be more sociable. Good luck getting him to drink though, he's a grouchypuss rn
