This beautiful, sunny spring day had already been so very pleasant and a great start to Tessa's ranching profession. Although decently fatigued from the labor of chopping down trees, that wouldn't keep the fiery redhead down from getting all she could get done in a single day. A quick stop at her nearby farm to drop off the sack full of lumber and she was back out of the house and just on the edge of her property. Glista Lake lined up to her property line making it pretty convenient to do daily fishing without much exertion.
The edge of the water was slightly lower than the grass of the farm, allowing Tessa to slip off her black tennis shoes, stuff her socks into them, and dip her bare feet into the water. It was immediately refreshing, the cool sparkling water soaking her toes that were dangling off the ledge. Eyes closed to try and hold this moment and meditate with the spring flower aroma filling her nose. She could get used to this. Hard labor in the morning and relaxing fishing in the afternoon. It was a great day in her mind, at least until she could get her hands on a barn and start with animal care.
Blinking her eyes open, the sun's reflection off the water on the lake blinded her momentarily. A couple more quick blinks and she cleared most of the darkened spots from her vision. Her copper fishing pole was laying in the grass next to her along with an ice chest filled with water to store any fish she may catch today. She grabbed the pole from the slightly overgrown grass and realized she had no bait. Surely she would still catch something, right? Maybe just take her a few tries. Hoisting the pole behind her, Tessa flinched slightly at the soreness of the motion which she had just been doing all morning. At least it would be a simple cast forward instead of repetitive slamming into trees. Line was cast into the middle of the lake, or at least as close as she could get. A tiny ringlet formed in the water where the red and white bobber landed, expanding over a few seconds before dissipating. Tessa hadn't fished since the last time she was with her father. 'I wonder how long it will take for a bite?' Letting out a soft sigh, she kept the fishing pole in her right hand and leaned her weight back onto her left, head tilted up towards the cloudless sky. She found herself lost in her thoughts for awhile just waiting. DATE: Spring 1 || Fish Attempt 1 TAGS: NPC Account / Open || WORDS: 436

Glista Lake | Reel 'Em In | Date: Spring 1
Fishing
Tessa Meadows | SUCCESS!! Tessa reeled in a Perch! It's 20 centimeters long! Please record this item in your log. You have 4 attempts remaining. So... tired...Once your new fishy friend is within your grasp and put away properly, you suddenly feel completely exhausted. There's no way you'll be able to reel in another fish -or do any other work, really- with how tired you feel. Maybe a visit to the local doctor for some medicine could get you going again? Tessa is moderately fatigued. You are done working for today (no usage of tools), due to this negative happening. It can be cured by taking medicine or will go away on its own on Spring 2. |

The wait took a little bit longer than anticipated and Tessa found herself drifting off into a light sleep. Slowly, the fishing pole began slipping from her grip until a tug on the line snapped her back awake. "Oh!" She exclaimed, rather loudly from being abruptly woken. Switching the pole to her left hand, she began reeling with her right, tugging up every few seconds. It was a small battle with this fish; the weight of it didn't seem very substantial. Tessa had done so much fishing with her father that she knew when she was about to reel in a 'big catch'.
As the fish cleared the top of the water, she was right in the size. Just being a Perch, it wasn't likely to be very big but after loosening it from the hook and taking measurement, it was actually on the larger size of Perches at least. Carefully lifting the ice chest filled with water, she placed the fish inside and closed the lid. Eyes felt even heavier and her arms felt as though she could barely move. "Oh man... I think I ought to just turn in for the day." First day of hard labor really brought the fatigue on her hard. Thankfully she was on her property and could just pack up and walk a good hundred feet back to her front door and crash. She could try and accomplish more tomorrow.
