The pathway to Rose Court Farm looked to be cobblestone, but in reality it was highly compressed gravel which scrapped and chipped at her Mary Jane shoes. Icy eyes watched small pieces tumble forward as their shadows drew closer to the front door of their new home. But alas they did not have the key, that is what they would be receiving from the Mayor today. Desdemona stopped her movement, her lifeless face roaming over the aged bricking that formed their new home. It was quaint, with two other farms on each side. Turning, her eyes drew past her brother towards the large lake that touched base with each lakeside farm. "This is to be our home, brother," she told him emptily as she stared out to the glistening water that caught the rays of the sun above. The sky was empty of all clouds and the temperature perfect for their first day. "We are to be farmers now," she continued to state the obvious. "Do you think we'll die here?" she asked what seemed to be an inappropriate question as she finally looked to her twin. But it was a harmless one, she simply wanted to know if he believed they'd live out there days there, did it seem good enough for them. Gloved hands squeezed at the handle of her suitcase [1] she currently held up to her knees. It was heavy and she looked [2] as though she may topple over from the weight, but she held her own and was in no actual danger of falling. They hadn't packed very much for the journey and a great deal of cloth she had collected over the years had to be left behind at the orphanage. Dracon knew she was upset about that even though she didn't show it. HOVER FOR DESCRIPTION, CLICK FOR LARGER IMAGE

[attr="class","draconimg"] ♛ Spring 1st { Morning, Sunny} The crystal waters of a lake glistened in the distance, refraction of the sun’s light; a white orb of radiation fixed to a pale blue sky. The hushed volume of branches rustling preceded the gust of wind that blew passed. Dracon’s bangs swept across his forehead, the dull glimmer of icy blue following the direction of the wind as it effortlessly billowed through the flat meadows of the east. It was quiet. The only sound was the clip-clap of Desdemona’s pearl white shoes as they ventured down the pathway, the rustling of the leaves, and the occasional neighing of a horse from the nearby stables. The sensation was new, and the eighteen year old did not know what to make of it. “This is to be our home, brother.” Desdemona spoke a few minutes after their arrival. The farm house stood before them; a two story house with white painted windows, a black roof, and faded red brick. Tree moss clung to the majority of the building, and a keen eye conveyed the weathered and old state of the house. “We are to be farmers now.”Dracon drew his gaze toward his sister and then peered out at the vast expanse of land. He noted the border of chain length fences at the rim of the premises. Unkempt, clearly outdated by years of neglect. Possible sign of their grandparents getting along with their neighbors or an empty lot of farmland left for sale. His gaze swept to the east, noting the integrity of those fences to have been replaced in more recent years. However, it was not in the style of the house or its amenities. Instead, it matched the white picket fence that bordered the other property. “Hm.” He intoned thoughtfully, although finding his analysis of the property entirely boring. “Do you think we’ll die here?”“It’s too early to tell.” He replied cryptically, his gaze now roaming the thick and overgrown grass that had been left for at least a few years. Dracon turned his attention to his arm as he drew the white sleeve of his dress shirt back and revealed the black and silver smart watch underneath. It showcased the date, time, and current weather. A meeting had been set up via the telephone, prior to their ride across the water. The meeting would take place here at the property of Rose Court Farm where they would be given the keys to their Grandparents land. Dracon set his own rectangle suitcase down before the front door and unfurled the deed that had been given to them by their estranged older cousin. if you have any questions pm us. The breeze was rather magical today, a refreshing reminder of springtime and arrival of new life both plant life and human life as known by the mayor. There were a few appointments scheduled today for new coming townsfolk to which all of the islanders were overly excited. Small statured, snowy white haired young woman emerged from town square glancing at her watch strapped to her left wrist. It was just about time to meet up with the descendants of one of the lakeside farms. Vivian was told a pair of twins was going to "inherit" the old farm but little did they know that it was left with a balance that needed to be covered before keys could be turned over. Tranquil Island had been losing economy for quite some time after the Witch of Decay arrived that most farms had become bankrupt. This particular farm was no different.
Wind picking up as Vivian neared the property, a few strands of her ivory hair made its way in front of her eyes as she almost stumbled onto the pebbled path. A soft gasp escaped her mouth, catching herself but her leather satchel smacked onto the floor with a thud. There were many stacks of paper within the satchel, weighing it down. Deeds, contracts, pens, a clipboard, some coin she had just collected from a new owner. She quickly bent over to collect the satchel, swinging it back over her right shoulder. When standing back upright, her purple orbs found the twins standing in front of the property. Hoping they hadn't been waiting long, Vivian hastily shuffled her tiny frame over to their location with her left hand held in the air in greeting. "Oh hello! You must be the Weiß twins! I've heard about you from your grandparents when I was a little girl. I am Vivian Sherman, appointed mayor of this wonderful Island. I know this should be a simple transaction but..." Her voice trailed off, petering into nothing though it hadn't far to go from such a minute sound level. Eyes shifted towards her satchel, grabbing a stack of papers, the deed and a set of keys from within. "Well I'm not sure if you were made aware of the troubles the Island has been having over the years... Your grandparents had a incurred balance due on the property which will need to be covered before I can hand over the keys." The papers were attached to the clipboard under the metal clip. She turned the documents over to the two of them to look over, her finger pointing at the balance that was due: 15,000G. The contract was all ready to sign and the Deed already printed in their name and as much as Vivian wished she could just hand the property over, Tranquil Island needed to collect it's debts if it was going to remotely survive... Between the two siblings, they would probably have this farm up and producing goods in no time! DATE: Spring 1 || TAGS: @desdemona || WORDS: 497

Spring 1st Sunny, Morning, with: Dracon Weiß & The Mayor
Desdemona stared at her brother for a long time after his words. And to others it may have appeared eerily, but not to Dracon, never him. She was satisfied with his answer because it balanced both sides of the coin, the good and the bad. She stepped into place beside her twin, setting down her own suitcase and then using it as a seat to prevent the fabric of her dress from becoming dirty. From there she watched her brother, eyeing the deed he read over before catching sight of a woman chaotically rushing towards them. She watched as the wind tussled her clothes and hair causing the female to drop a bookbag she harbored. "Do you think that is the mayor?" She asked with not an inch of curiosity within her vacant tone. But her brother's answer never came because the woman finally arrived and immediately introduced herself. She was an odd looking female, with contrasting colors at every part of her body, silver hair, purple eyes, blue dress with green bows, and then a dreaded white and black hairband that looked as though she had robbed it from a maid. The woman spoke in as much flurry as the wind that had just moments ago thrown her about. Desdemona could only tilted her head and watch the other in wonder as she went on and on. For a time it felt as though there was now an awkward stretch of silence between them before she cut into it with her own words. "I fail to understand why that has anything to do with us," she challenged the other female, her icy eyes appearing lifeless and intimidating. She was not pleased at all to be paying the debt of their dead grandparents especially when they were the ones to leave them rotting within the orphanage. [attr="class","draconimg"] ♛ Spring 1st { Morning, Sunny} Desdemona ventured to his side to set her luggage down, perching herself atop it. Dracon’s gaze did not waver from the deed he had unfurled nor the letter that had come with it from their estranged cousin. However, a word of advice from his sister brought his stoic gaze across the swaying overgrown grass and to the slip of a female who had taken it upon herself to rush across the acres. They both watched the girl, unsmiling and void while she stumbled, took a detour to pick up her belongings, and then waved at them with an enthusiasm he could not comprehend. “Oh hello! You must be the Weiss twins! I’ve heard about you from your grandparents when I was a little girl.” Her confidence was astounding, considering her words were a lie. Dracon cocked his head, his gaze becoming heavily lidded while she introduced herself as the Mayor of the island. She appeared little over their own age, nearly half their size, and was dressed in maid attire. Alas, he was bored. Polite civilities aside, he felt this was an entire waste of their time. With the thought came his diverting attention, hooded and unperturbed gaze casting over the expanse of land while she continued to speak. “Well I’m not sure if you were made aware of the troubles the Island has been having over the years… Your grandparents had an incurred balance due on the property which will need to be covered before I hand over the keys.”“I fail to understand why that has anything to do with us.”“I concur.” Dracon added, bringing his gaze back to the young woman. The island’s previous grievances were of no concern to either of them. Neither should have been their grandparents debt. “Debt should have been processed during the handling of the Will. Neither Desdemona nor I were our grandparents beneficiaries. Their debt is no concern of ours.”if you have any questions pm us. Caught completely off guard by the reactions of both twins, purple eyes widened in a bit of panic as Vivian has never really had to deal with any situations like this in the past. Both of the siblings seemed very closed off and sort of 'damaged' if you will just from their demeanors. Trying to come up with a good response, the mayor stared for a few moments at the stapled papers on her clipboard. Squinting at the corner where the staple was, she noted a teeny tiny piece of torn paper underneath the staple signifying there was a front page missing, probably ripped off during her small tumble.
Before responding, hands began shuffling through her satchel one more time. Her eyes lit up as her fingers glided upon a singular sheet of paper floating about in the bag. Carefully bringing it out of the bag and back on top of the packet, she confirmed it was indeed page one of the document. Rose color rushed to her cheeks, embarrassed as she read the information presented on the page. Well I guess that would be why... Eyes glanced up to meet the cold stares of both Weiß twins. "Oh my, I apologize! I see here that it was indeed passed to you both through the Will and the monies will be coming from your grandparents' will." Her voice was mouse-like even in the tiny squeaks that escaped as she spoke. Shuffling the papers around, she presented them with the signature page as just a release of the keys to the proper owners. "I will just need a signature from you both here and the keys are yours. So sorry for the confusion!" While they may not know it yet, the townsfolk were just as excited to welcome new farmers to their island as say a doctor or veterinarian. Every bit of help to restore the island would be greatly needed for the time to come. DATE: Spring 1 || TAGS: @desdemona || WORDS: 325

Spring 1st Sunny, Morning, with: Dracon Weiß & The Mayor
"I concur," her brother's voice came in secondly causing Desdemona to blink slowly as she drew her eyes to him. His argument was sound, but she was not a fool. She knew the real world was cruel and didn't follow the rules it so rigorously forced. If the Mayor said no then they would have no choice but to pay...and that meant very little funds left over for them to survive. Her large pale blue eyes moved away from their company and towards the gravel floor that had been chipping away at her Mary-Jane shoes. They had worked hard to save what they could to start anew and to lose it all... The vacant expression of the twin sister didn't change as she leaned down and poised her hand towards a loose piece of gravel before flicking it down the pathway. The sound was louder to her than others as it clicked and clattered away. "Oh my, I apologize!" The mayor suddenly announced and it was then that Desdemona saw the extra piece of paper in her hands. So, there was a mistake. The thought brought her comfort as she waited and listened to Vivian tell them both that there was nothing they needed to pay. "It's all right," the younger twin spoke rising to her full height as she gave the woman a dainty bow. She was pleased, but it wasn't as though anyone could tell from her expression. She approached the silver haired woman and took hold of a pen provided to sign the desired area. When she finished she looked to her brother pausing for a time before looking back to the woman. "Dracon and I are both pleased."HOVER FOR DESCRIPTION, CLICK FOR LARGER IMAGE OOC SPOILERTransaction is completed OOC!

[attr="class","draconimg"] ♛ Spring 1st { Morning, Sunny} The fifteen thousand debt would be a real problem if they were forced to pay it. He and his sister had managed to save a reasonable amount of money during their three years at the orphanage, but it would not be enough to cover the debt and their living expenses. If the Mayor of Tranquil Island insisted on the new owners paying the previous debts then they would be forced to disembark the way they had come. It would become a complete waste of their time and assets. “Oh my, I apologize!” By a run of luck — something neither of the twins experienced much in their lives — the Mayor revealed a missing page to the document file. “The monies will be coming from your grandparents’ will.”Her demeanor was timid. He could read it, but he had difficulty understanding what was real, or what that sort of behavior should have meant. Regardless, Dracon felt relief swell in his chest at the realization that they had gotten out of the dilemma. He hadn’t wanted to find themselves forced into a situation of departure. But, like many things, he had half expected it; always resigned to whatever fate handed them. Desdemona approached the Mayor to sign the clipboard first. When it was handed to him, he signed as well, handing the clipboard to the Mayor once he finished. His sister spoke up on their behalf, while Dracon held his hand out for the keys. if you have any questions pm us.
