New keys jingled in her black skinny jean pockets as the auburn haired girl strode through town with a new found pep in her step. The briskness of the air was not met by her pale, ginger skin as she wore a forest green colored scarf around her neck and the same colored simple jacket over a white tank top. One hand found itself with its thumb in her pocket, her left hand of course since she was right handed and never knew when it would be needed. Always alert of her surroundings, Tessa was brought up to protect herself which included always knowing when danger could be around the corner. While Tranquil Island was a peaceful place, she hadn't yet met any of the townsfolk aside from the mayor. Eyes would be peeled for a few weeks surely to get a lay for the land.
The blacksmith shop, she had found out, was actually closer to her property than she realized. The trip through town was completely unnecessary but at least she started to get a feel for the town and notated a few landmarks along the way. Guess I just needed some fresh air. A quick chuckle at her own thought led her to the front door of the Blacksmith shop. The front of the shop was decorated with a simple wooden deck, some random tools laid about and a bench that seemed to have better days. It was quite dusty but she was not one to judge. The door was painted black; no window to see through and no peephole. The handle was a circular one that she twisted and pushed forward to open, the top of the door hitting a convenient bell at the top to signify her entrance.
Upon entrance, it looked fairly barren. The storefront was small - a couple seats along the same wall as the door, some posters hung on the wall of tools and prices, and the front counter which was empty at the moment. Clearing her throat, which now had accumulated some dust, turned into a soft cough. "Uh, hello? Anyone here?" Tessa had always had a rather raspy voice which had been made more so from the dust collected in the establishment. She seemed almost annoyed but was rather just wanting to find someone quickly and be on her way.

Not typically an early riser, Vince Kurtan had gotten up slightly early in the day having been notified by the lady mayor that newcomers were coming onto the island today. On those special days, Vince always tended to be busier than ever with the newbies buying out his stock of tools. It was maybe nine o'clock when he first got up and began some early morning smelting. The heat from the forge warmed his skin from the morning crisp weather. He had just put a pot of coffee on when the bell rang signifying someone entering the shop.
The brunette man was only half dressed at the time with some baggy sweatpants and no shirt, his hair still left tangled and messy. It was that kind of sexy messy though, having medium length hair for a male. Eyes peered out from the side of the back room noticing that it was a very attractive ginger-haired woman who had found her way into his shop. Shrugging and giving no cares for whether to cloth himself or not, he walked up towards her, one hand behind his head and the other waving. "Well hey there, girl. What can I do for ya?" Vince had that deep baritone voice that vibrated the floor ever so slightly as he spoke. It usually sent tingles down all the girls' spines, but who is to tell what this girl would say about it. Maybe nothing at all. Vince was your typical full of himself jock who all of the girls chased after. You could say it made him a bit cocky in the way he talked to people.

As her auburn eyes scanned the shop while waiting, they were soon met with a half naked blacksmith with an incredibly ripped body. Quick rose color flushed to her cheeks, not prepared to meet that. It wasn't all that early in the day for her to be barging into the shop, but maybe they just opened later than a rancher would be used to? Anyhow, Tessa would be quick to be in and out as she hated awkward conversations and this was most definitely going to be one. "Oh, uh, I was just here to purchase a copper fishing pole if you have any in stock."
Eyes were mostly diverted to the floor. It wasn't everyday that someone could cause her to be bashful but then again, it wasn't every day that she was met with someone of his looks all presented for the world to see. Trying to avoid any other interaction, she looked to the shelves, realizing that she hadn't actually taken a look herself to try and find the fishing pole. Chuckling nervously, she picked one of them up from a nearby shelf. "This one here will do! What do I owe you?" Trying to pull out her purse as quickly as possible, she fumbled around with it for a moment before glancing back up at the Blacksmith in front of her, flushed cheeks still warm to the touch.

The man gave a smirk at her reaction to his appearance. As she seems to fumble with her words and grew bright red, the girl finally asked for what she was looking for; a fishing pole. Maybe if she wasn't so distracted, and rightfully so, the red-headed girl could probably spot the item when she came it. They were basically behind her on a shelf. But before he could answer her, she quickly turned around and finally spotted them.
The blacksmith gave a small chuckle, mostly to himself, but if she listened she probably caught it. "1500G for a copper fishing rod," he told her, even if the price was right there next to the items. But he will let her off easy and not be a total jerk. "Is that all you want?"

The brunette Blacksmith seemed to notice her flushed cheeks and seemed to be amused at her reactions to his physical state. It was fairly difficult to hide, not really being around other people for quite awhile, just sticking to her hands on ranch work and learning to hunt with her father. Tessa hadn't really the chance to swoon over high school boys, being home schooled after the passing of her mother. Either way, she would eventually grow better at social interactions but couldn't say that even with social skills that this particular one wouldn't be as awkward as it was.
"Oh, yes I've got that right here. Thank you very much!" She quickly counted out the appropriate money for the exchange, placing it in the palm of her thin, pale hand before placing it on the register counter. She looked over the copper rod, excited for the amount of hours she would be putting on this thing. Fishing was such a calming activity for her, a chance to clear her mind and dip a toe or two in the water. Her next stop would definitely be the lake, which so happened to be only a few steps away from her property.
