after the disco, all of the shine just faded away all of the shine just faded away Here he was, his new home... Zane Aston was fresh off the boat with nothing but a small suitcase, he didn't have many items anyway, and himself. The young adult was off on his own now, to make a living for himself and to put the skills he had learned over the years from his father and elder brothers to the test. Just to see if he can survive on his own. He was basically an adult now, so he should be able to... Right?
Following the signs, Zane managed to find the small town. It looked neat, clean, and peaceful. Totally different than living in a busy city. It was probably something he has to get used to. The blond peered around the town, which seems to mostly be void of a lot of people, but there were sprinkles of them here and there. He gave those that acknowledged him, a small greeting as he went on. During the sightseeing, he noticed a job board tacked onto a building, which could mean it was like the town hall.
"Might as well..." he said to himself as he went closer to get a better view.
Amber eyes scanned the list of jobs, which was a lot, but it gave a good variety. He hummed softly before spying a job he knew he could do, 'Carpenter'. It was something he was really familiar with so why not take it. Plus it was one of the important jobs around here, a need for things that need to be built or repaired. He memorized the location of the shop before going towards it.
Zane finally found the place, a lonely building at the edge of town, and all that is considered, it looked nice. It was even a two story! He did read that a top floor is actually a place for him to live if he wanted to or he could rent it out. He, himself, would choose to stay in it. It's just simpler that way. Now he just has to wait on the Mayor to come along so he can purchase this building.

The day was still budding, barely past about ten o'clock as the mayor rushed between a few appointments that she had lined up for the day. The flora in springtime always caught her fancy as the snowy haired young woman strode through town. An earlier orange flower still placed elegantly in between her white strands of hair behind her right ear, she still stopped to smell some of the blue and indigo patches of sprouting buds on her way towards the carpenter shop.
On the outskirts of town, which was a good thing for most townsfolk that didn't want to hear the sawing and hammering of a carpenter at work, it was a perfect little spot. With a basic brown clipboard huddled into her left armpit, Vivian approached the building which already had someone waiting - a blond, long haired....woman? Or perhaps long haired man? Glancing down at her paperwork, the name was "Zane". Seemingly a male name, she mentally prepared herself to meet him. "Hello there! I take it you made the appointment to view the carpentry shop? I have here a Zane Aston? I am Vivian Sherman, mayor of the lovely Tranquil Island." She placed the clipboard and paperwork back into her side and extended out her right hand. Hands were petite and almost ghost white in paleness. Red orbs were wide open and cheery, welcoming even as they glanced into her acquaintances'.

after the disco, all of the shine just faded away all of the shine just faded away He got why the shop was on the outskirts of the town, the noise. If he wasn't acquainted with all the hammering and sawing whacked, he would probably have gone a bit insane. Especially if the work carried on through the night. At least wild animals would be scared off from the noise... He hoped. Nothing like being greeted by a bear or a couple of wolves.
As Zane looked over the interior of the shop, which seems to have the standard, perhaps a bit old fashion woodworking tables. Nothing he couldn't handle, he heard the small scraping of a door being open and light footsteps coming in. The long-haired blond turned to see a rather short,blue-headed young lady. From the look of the clipboard in her possession and the general air about her, she must be the mayor.
"Ah yes, I'm Zane Aston. Nice to meet you Ms.Sherman and thanks for the welcome." he gave a small smile as he gently took her pale hand in his in a firm handshake.
"And that is correct, I'm here to look at this shop. Though, I kinda did a little bit of investigating myself..." He probably should have waited for her, but he couldn't exactly wait. But there was one thing he didn't check, the upstairs.
"Oh, I see that this place also had a living area upstairs. Can we go have a look at that?"

At greeting the blond haired man, Vivian was met with a rather firm handshake and one with many callouses. Not surprising as she's sure if someone was buying the carpenter that they had previous experience with woodwork of some sort. While gathering her thoughts, Zane moved along the process quickly explaining that he had already had a look around the lower level and wanted to see the studio apartment upstairs. "Oh certainly we can have a look. The key for the studio is separate from the front door of the shop. Let's see here, this smaller one on the ring. Let's have a look."
With the key ring in hand with 2 copies of the shop key and 2 of the apartment, clipboard still tucked underneath her left armpit, she led the two of them upstairs. The stair entrance was in the back left of the room not behind a door but the very top of the stairs was a dark oak colored door with a tiny peephole. Unnumbered from the outside, one would use the carpentry address if they were to receive mail or packages of any sort. Pushing the key into the hole, she turned it to the left and slowly pushed open the door. No one had used the apartment in quite some time so there was a decent collection of dust on the floor and surfaces but the furniture had been covered with plastic for safekeeping. "It's just a studio apartment, two rooms: a bathroom with a tub/shower combo and the main room which has a kitchen with a refrigerator, a table along the wall with a chair and the couch that pulls out into a bed. You're always welcome to upgrade the furniture but that's what's furnished. Do you have any questions?" Vivian tried to keep it short and sweet. There wasn't much excitement for the living space but it was a home nonetheless and you couldn't be closer to your workplace.

after the disco, all of the shine just faded away all of the shine just faded away Zane followed her up the stairs an into the room as she opened it. As the Mayor explained what the place had in it, he gave it a look around. A studio apartment was no problem for him. He did live by himself for now. And it came furnished? Another bonus for him. That means that he didn't have to buy anything at the moment since all the essentials were provided. And no need to have an extended stay in a hotel. He actually has his own place.
"No, no questions. Everything looks perfect." he told her as he went back to her, a gentle smile on his face. He was quite happy in this find. A place to work and somewhere to sleep all in one day? He was pretty lucky. "I would really like to purchase this place if I may. From what I read it was 15,000G?" The blond had hoped he had done his research well. If he did, he would be the new owner and Carpenter of this place. If not, he would have to do a little bit of extra work to make up the difference, before someone else decided they wanted to buy this place.

Within what seemed like seconds, the young man confirmed his interest in the place and had already prepared the amount of money owed for the purchase. "Yes, 15,000G for the whole place. I just need your signature on the deed and copy of the deed for the records in my office." Tiny pale hands pulled out the clipboard from her side which contained two pieces of paper with minimal verbiage and a blue inked pen tucked underneath the clipboard clasp. Tranquil was not very advanced in their law and so required little when purchasing property or buildings. Quarrels seemed less likely in such a small town.
As she handed the documents over to Zane, she let her eyes wander around the studio for a moment. While being the mayor of the town, she hadn't really viewed all of the available property prior to her appointments. Thinking about it, she probably should have done that just to ensure there were no critters taking up residence in any of them. In any case, this one seemed relatively safe being on the second floor and locked. Just a few cobwebs and dust that just needed a little TLC. The state of the place didn't seem to phase the buyer so that's all that really mattered. This carpenter shop would be the starting place for many folk and the center for getting the island some new revenue. Ranchers need barns to make animal products after all.

after the disco, all of the shine just faded away all of the shine just faded away The young man gave a small nod as he accepted the clipboard and pen. He gave the document a read over, just to be sure, before signing the Deed to officially say that he owned this building. His penmanship was professional and easy to read. He was no stranger in paperwork even in this modern age where technology was used for everything and handwriting was being slowly phased out. But this place doesn't seem to have that problem any time soon. In fact, Zane was quite happy at that fact. He would get to work more with his hands instead of having a machine do all the work. Makes it more personable.
"Here you are, Ms. Sherman." He handed her back the clipboard and pen when he finished signing. And as he handed that back, he also gave her the 15,000K as well. He just so happens to have on him, since he was planning on purchasing the shop right then and there.

Quick again to provide his signature followed by a purse of money, the deed was signed and Vivian quickly followed suit with her own signature, carefully sliding back the blue inked pen back into its home under the clasp. "Perfect! Here is your copy of the deed - the other I'll house in my office - and two copies of each key, the shop entrance and your studio apartment. Did you happen to want to name the shop? If you don't have one now, you can always come by my office to record a name at a later date." The mayor had handed one slip of paper and the keys over to Mr. Aston, tucking away the clipboard with her copy into the satchel hanging on her right hip.
It was rather promising and lucky that Tranquil was receiving such an inspired carpenter. She hoped that his motivation would cause the townsfolk to rely in his abilities and start building on some of the more barren parts of town. Who knows? Maybe the mayor herself would request a thing or two from him in the future.

after the disco, all of the shine just faded away all of the shine just faded away Name the shop? No, he has not. What would he even name the place? He would have to get a feel of the place and come up with one later. "Ah, no name for this place yet. That will take some thinking." he said as he folded the deed twice and put it in his back pocket for safekeeping until he had a minute to put it somewhere safer. The blond took the keys as well, looping a finger into the keyring, giving the keys a little spin before letting them rest in his hand.
"Thank you once again, Ms. Sherman. For letting me purchase this place and it was wonderful meeting you." Zane said with a smile as he reached to give her another handshake. Once she leaves, he needs to start working and get ready. He hs a sneaking suspension that once people hear that a new Carpenter is in town, he will be very busy. Not that he minds of course. It was something to keep him preoccupied.

Zane Aston I'm going to call this thread closed as it doesn't need a reply from the mayor.
Please make sure to record the purchase on your log.
